Alliance audit: Check alliance tokens after the last influence movement. A player only scores an alliance VP if they still hold that token at scoring time.
Hidden VP audit: Keep deck card VP and intrigue VP in separate fields so reveal scoring is easier to verify and less likely to be counted twice.

To score a game of Dune Imperium, players must track several different types of point. Each type of point come from a different source, and moves at a different rate from the other points. Beyond the victory point track that is visible on the board, players must also keep track of the four faction influence point, the conflict point reward, and any hidden points that may accrue to a player from there cards.

Beyond the complexity of the game, the challenge for players in scoring is not the addition of the points, but in the identification of which points to track will provide certain points to a player, and which point may still change before the game’s end. The victory point track is the most visible means of scoring point in the game, but not all of the points earn by a player are displayed on the game board. Many players will end the game with between six and nine points on the victory point track.

How to Keep Score in Dune Imperium

Thus, players must earn points from the other sources of points to reach the necessary threshold of ten points to win the game. Players can earn points from each of the factions by reaching the second space on each of the influence track. Each player that holds an alliance token earns an additional point from each of these factions, but the possibility of losing that alliance token to another player means that the point isnt guaranteed to the holder of that token.

Conflict reward provide points to the winner of each of these conflicts. The victor of a conflict may earn two or three points from the conflict. These points alter the tempo at which the game is to play out.

Each player has a limited number of troops to dedicate to each of these conflicts. A player should consider both the number of troops available to a player, as well as the number of points earned from each conflict reward. Players earn points from the cards that are held in their deck, though those points are hidden from the view of other player.

A player may earn three or four point from the cards that are in their deck. Additionally, players earn points from intrigue card that may also be hidden from other players view. Some of these intrigue cards may award points only if the player hold that intrigue card at a certain time.

Thus, points earned from each of these hidden cards should be separate in a players mind from one another. Though resources do not provide points to a player, the player with the most of each resource will win the game if the players tie in their earned points. Spice is the most valuable resource in Dune Imperium, due to the various ways in which spice may be used to gain an advantage in the game.

Water is the second most valuable resource. Solari and troops are also resources in the game, but are less valuable than spice or water. Each player may use a calculator to enter their number of resources, which removes the need for calculating the relative value of each of the resources by hand.

New players to Dune Imperium may believe that the end of the game is a race to score ten points. However, the end of the game incorporate several races to achieve victory. Beyond the races to score points from each of the factions, points from each of the conflicts, and points from revealed cards, players must also race to the end to claim the resources.

The calculator included in the game is most useful while still playing the game. Players should calculate the points that each player should score after their points that can still move are tracked.
